OTC Daihen Genuine Hall Effect Current Sensor 4406-009
4406-009 is an official genuine Hall effect current sensor (current detector) deployed across OTC Daihen gas-shielded welding machines for closed-loop current feedback. Acting as the “electrical eye” of the power source, this sensor uses a high-linearity Hall effect core encapsulated in resin to withstand intense heat and electromagnetic interference. It converts hundreds of amperes of welding current into millivolt-level control signals at microsecond speeds, feeding real-time data to the main PCB. Re-equipping your machine with an original 4406-009 eliminates arc current overshooting, excessive spatter, and parameter display jumping caused by saturated or drifting aftermarket transformers, ensuring precise constant-current/constant-voltage output.

🔧 On-Site Installation & Hall Sensor Troubleshooting Guide (Essential Reading)
- Critical Rule: Observe Directional Arrow! Hall sensors are directional. When threading the main welding busbar or cable through 4406-009, strictly observe the directional arrow marked on the sensor housing. Reverse installation sends inverted feedback to the mainboard, causing the welder to erupt with maximum runaway current upon arc strike, melting contact tips instantly!
- Prevent EMI Signal Crosstalk: If welding current displays jump erratically, verify that the Hall sensor signal harness is routed away from 380V main power conductors or high-frequency ignition lines. Strong magnetic crosstalk induces noise spikes into Hall sensor signals.
- Busbar Joint Tightening: Tighten busbar bolts passing through the sensor to specified torque values. Loose, high-resistance joints generate extreme localized heat that melts the plastic sensor housing and damages the Hall chip.
- No Hot-Swapping: Never connect or disconnect the sensor ribbon harness while the welder is powered ON; voltage spikes will destroy PCB operational amplifiers.
