- Thermal Compound Discipline (Prevent Thermal Runaway): Power diodes generate intense heat and depend on aluminum heat sinks for thermal dissipation. Before mounting a new 4531-308 diode, completely remove old dried silicone grease from the heat sink and apply a fresh, thin, uniform layer of thermal compound!
