Robot Alarm Codes 5214-5223 Repair

During the operation of the OTC DAIHEN Welding Robot, if the system experiences problems such as gap or groove depth parameters exceeding limits, groove not detected, search timeout, or sensor installation parameter error, the teach pendant will usually display a hardware and control-level alarm in the 5214 to 5223 range. If these faults are not investigated promptly, they may cause serious operational safety hazards or damage to core components such as the reducer.

To help on-site engineers and mechanics quickly locate problems, we have organized the diagnostic terminology from the official maintenance manual to provide you with the following intuitive fault quick reference table. We recommend using the search function, entering the error code (e.g., 5214), to accurately obtain troubleshooting and processing suggestions.

I. OTC Robot Alarm Code Real-Time Quick Reference Table (5214-5223)

Alarm Code Fault Phenomenon Fault Cause Analysis Countermeasures & Solutions
5214 Gap Amount Too Small The detected gap amount is smaller than the minimum allowable value. Check the gap amount, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5215 Groove Depth Too Deep The detected groove depth exceeds the maximum allowable value. Check the groove depth value, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5216 Groove Depth Too Shallow The detected groove depth is smaller than the minimum allowable value. Check the groove depth value, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5217 Angle 1 Too Large The detected angle 1 exceeds the maximum allowable value. Check the size of angle 1, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5218 Angle 1 Too Small The detected angle 1 is smaller than the minimum allowable value. Check the size of angle 1, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5219 Angle 2 Too Large The detected angle 2 exceeds the maximum allowable value. Check the size of angle 2, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5220 Angle 2 Too Small The detected angle 2 is smaller than the minimum allowable value. Check the size of angle 2, modify the allowable value if necessary, and then execute an exception reset.
5221 Groove Not Detected Failed to detect the groove position. 1. Check the setting parameters in the GFF file; 2. If it has an optional data terminal, use the groove data function in the RD/AD tab menu and modify the teaching program to obtain the laser data correctly. After completing the above operations, execute an exception reset.
5222 Search Timeout This error occurs when the search time is too long. Reduce the search time to less than 2 seconds or modify the sampling frequency in the GFF file, and then execute an exception reset.
5223 Sensor Installation Parameter Error This error occurs when the sensor installation parameter is not set. 1. Specify the sensor installation direction; 2. Perform sensor calibration before executing the ZTLETP command. After completing the above operations, execute an exception reset.

When the robot frequently displays the above hardware-level alarms, and routine reset attempts are ineffective, do not forcefully pull the robot arm or repeatedly force restarts, so as not to cause secondary irreversible damage.
